A homemade Kahlua liquor.

4 cups sugar
4 cups water
1/2 cup instant coffee, dissolved in 2-3 Tbsp boiling water, cooled
1/5 whiskey (25.6 oz)
1 vanilla bean split in half lengthwise
- Bring sugar and water to a boil. Boil for 15 minutes, and then cool.
- Mix all ingredients in a gallon jug for 3 weeks, shaking the mixture periodically.
- Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth. Serve in your favorite Kahlua drink.
