Tomato juice and vodka, seasoned with salt, pepper, Tabasco sauce, celery salt, Worcestershire, and lemon, and served with pickled vegetables (Brussels sprouts are good if you can find them).
-By David Strommen
Ingredients:
12 oz glass
Ice
2 oz Vodka
Sacramento Tomato Juice
4-5 shakes of salt
4-5 shakes of pepper
4 shakes Tabasco sauce
3 shakes celery salt
4-5 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 lemon wedge
Items for garnishing (your choice – I like pickled Brussels sprouts)
Directions:
- Fill the glass with ice. Add two shots (2 oz total) of Vodka. Fill the rest of the glass with tomato juice, leaving just a little room for seasonings and being able to stir.
- Add the salt, pepper, Tabasco sauce, celery salt, Worcestershire sauce and juice squeezed out from lemon wedge. Drop the lemon wedge into the drink and stir well.
- Garnish with whatever items you would like. Items Dad often added were pickled Brussels sprouts, pickled garlic mushrooms, pickle spears, or green olives.
