Pumpkin Bread

A pumpkin bread made with cinnamon, nutmeg and chopped walnuts.

3 ½ cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 ½ tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg
3 cups sugar
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups fresh pumpkin, boiled until soft (or canned pumpkin)
2/3 cups water (canned)
½ cup water (fresh)
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup chopped walnuts


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar. Add eggs, water, oil and pumpkin. Add nuts. Pour into two greased 8X4 bread pans.
  3. Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted into center.
