Baked Chop Suey

Ground chuck sautéed with onions and celery, and then baked with rice in a cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, and soy sauce, and topped with chow mein noodles.

1 lb ground chuck
1 cup celery, chopped fine
2 med onions, chopped fine
2 ½ Tbsp soy sauce
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
½ cup raw rice
1 ½ cup warm water
1 can chow mein noodles


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Brown meat and sauté with onions and celery.
  3. Add all other ingredients.
  4. Bake for 1 hour. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with 1 can chow mein noodles. Bake another 10 to 15 minutes.
