Macaroni and Ground Beef

One of Chris Strommen’s favorite fall-weather foods, this chili-like dish is made with ground beef, garlic, onion, celery, green peppers and elbow macaroni all mixed together and set to simmer in a spaghetti sauce.

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground beef
1 large onion
2 stalks celery
1 24-oz can or jar hunts spaghetti sauce
1 green pepper
garlic powder to taste
season salt to taste
1 lb elbow macaroni

Directions:

  1. Cook elbow macaroni according to package. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown ground beef, drain.
  3. Add onion and brown.
  4. Add celery, green pepper, tomato sauce, and garlic, and season salt (to taste).
  5. Add cooked macaroni. Heat through and simmer for 20 minutes.  Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
