Baked Apple Raisin Stuffing

A sage stuffing made with apples, onion, celery, and raisins.

¼ cup onion, chopped
1 celery rib, chopped
2 Tbsp butter
½ cup cubed peeled red apples
¼ cup raisins, chopped
1/3 cup chicken broth
½ tsp chicken bouillon granules
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp rubbed sage
¼ tsp poultry seasoning
1/8 tsp pepper
2 cups cubed crustless day-old bread or 1 cup plain bread crumbs


  1. In a skillet, sauté onion and celery in butter until tender. Add the apple raisins, bouillon, salt, sage, poultry seasoning and pepper. Cook and stir 1-2 minutes longer. Stir in broth. Pour over bread crumbs and mix well.
  2. Transfer to a greased 1-qt baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Uncover, bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  3. Stuffing can also be used to stuff your favorite meat.
