Homemade Pasta, uncooked
Mashed potatoes (your choice – garlic, cheesy, etc)
1 medium onion, sliced and quartered
½ to 1 stick butter
2 tsp minced garlic
salt and pepper to taste
- Roll out pasta dough to about 1/8-inch thick. Cut out 3X3-inch squares.
- Put about 1 rounded Tbsp mashed potatoes in the center of each square. Fold in half, corner to corner, sealing the edges with a fork (as you would with ravioli).
- Add to a pot of boiling water and cook until al dente, about 7 minutes.
- Drain pierogies in a colander. Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add onions and sute until tender. Add garlic, pierogies, salt and pepper and cook over low heat, tossing pierogies in butter, for minutes. Serve warm.
