A traditional Thanksgiving side dish of baked sweet potatoes cooked in a brown-sugar sauce.

1 sweet potato
1 cup brown sugar
½ stick butter
- Boil sweet potato in pot of water until soft but still firm (not mushy). Remove and let cool.
- Remove peel but leave the waxy material on potato.
- Melt butter. Mix in brown sugar until correct consistency (thick but still pourable).
- Cut potato into wedges (long). Place in baking dish and pour sauce over them. Cook in oven at 350 degrees until hot.
