These fudge-like brownies are a very rich chocolate brownie made with German chocolate cake, caramel, pecans and additional chocolate.

1 14oz bag Kraft Caramels
2/3 cup (5 1/3 fl oz can) evaporated milk
1 2-layer German Chocolate cake mix
½ cup margarine, melted
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Melt caramels with 1/3 cup milk over low heat, stirring until smooth. Combine remaining milk, cake mix, margarine and pecans. Mix well.
- Press half of cake mixture into bottom of greased 13X9 inch baking pan. Reserve remaining dough for topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes.
- Remove and sprinkle chocolate chips over baked layer. Spread melted caramels over chocolate chips, spreading to edges of pan. Top with teaspoonfuls o remaining cake mixture. Bake 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Cool slightly, then chill to set caramel layer. Cut into small squares.
