Norwegian Coffee Fromage

A coffee gelatin topped with whipped cream.

1 envelope gelatin
1/3 cup boiling water
2 cups heavy cream
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup cold strong coffee
Whipped cream for garnish


  1. Dissolve the gelatin in boiling water and set aside to cool.
  2. Whip the cream until it is stiff, folding in the sugar and coffee.
  3. Add the cooled gelatin to the whipped cream mixture and pour it into a mold or individual serving dishes. Chill it until set.
  4. Garnish with whipped cream. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
