Pastel Party Tree

30 Aug

NoFoodImageThis frozen tree-shaped ice cream Jell-O mold can be made any time of year by changing the Jell-O flavor.  This is made with marshmallows, cherries, Jell-O, vanilla ice cream, Cool Whip, and crushed pineapple.

-By Christine (Salzer) Strommen

7 miniature marshmallows
11 maraschino cherries
2 3-oz pkgs or 1 6-oz pkg gelatin, any flavor
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup vanilla ice cream
2 cups thawed Cool Whip whipped topping
1 8-oz can crushed pineapple in juice

  1. Arrange marshmallows in squares of tree mold and cherries in the circles (or depending on what tree-shaped mold you have, you could arrange them differently).
  2. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add ice cream by spoonfuls, stirring until melted and smooth.
  3. Blend in whipped topping; add pineapple with juice. Gently spoon gelatin mixture into mold.
  4. Chill about 3 hours or freeze until firm. Unmold and garnish with whipped topping, if desired. Makes 10 servings.
