This is a sugar cookie with different colored vanilla frosting used for decorating. We traditionally make these for Christmas cookies, but you could use them for any holiday.

3 1/2 C. flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 C. butter
1 1/2 C. sugar
1/4 C. milk
2 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 lb. confectioners sugar
1/4 C. cold water
- Combine first 3 ingredients. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well.
- Gradually add flour and beat just until blended. Blend in milk and vanilla. Cover and chill several hours.
- Roll on lightly floured board. (*Note: flour dough ball lightly when rolling and the rolling pin) Cut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees 10-12 min.
- Blend frosting ingredients together – spread on cooled cookies or use decorator.
